In The Mind's I, 1981, Harvester Hofstadter and Dennett
Is viewing a record the same as viewing a piece of music? Can one achieve, by interpretation visually the grooves in a record, (or the bits on a CD), the same aesthetically as listening to a piece of music? If so, how, if not, why not? What implications would the truth of this have for music?
